What is the first thing that comes to my mind when someone says ERIS?
An institution which is able to connect different universities from different countries with different welfare organisations, and which can thus develop a comparative vision of social work and social services.

What in my opinion makes ERIS unique?
Its unique focus on the partnership among different universities from different countries in order to develop and differentiate visions of and approaches to social work. Another strength is that ERIS has been able to develop its activities at different levels - it organizes ERIS conferences enabling various researchers to present the results of their work, but it also coordinates events such as the Spring School - an activity specifically designed for students, with a highly collaborative educational ethos. The third level is that ERIS has been able to develop a system helping researchers publish their work. I truly appreciate all these three levels.

How has ERIS changed or influenced my life? Is there anything I have learned thanks to ERIS?
ERIS has influenced me in at least two ways - the first is that with ERIS I have wider-ranging professional social capital, because I am able to get to know many other colleagues. So the first thing is ERIS's support for professional relationships. The second is that with ERIS I am able to get information about the local organisation of social and welfare services in different countries; this information would be much more difficult to get via the internet or through personal contacts.
