University of Ostrava, Faculty of Social Studies in cooperation with four other V4-country universities successfully implemented the research project “Values Building in Social Work Education”

The project outputs were produced with a financial support of the International Visegrad Fund

The Faculty of Social Studies was the principal investigator of the Values Building in Social Work Education Project No. 21930161 implemented from 06/2020 to 12/2021. The implementation team led by Dr. Jelena Petrucijová, and Dr. Kateřina Glumbíková involved academic staff from another four V4 universities – University of Trnava (SK), University of  Lodz (PL), University of Olsztyn (PL) and Károli Gaspár University in Budapest (HU).

The project included research, evaluation of values education in social work degree programmes at V4-country universities, and design of educational innovations. Despite the obstacles constituted by anti-epidemic measures, all the planned project outputs were implemented. These include, among others, two scientific articles:

ISBN 978-80-7599-289-5, which, based on research results, proposes innovations in the form of methods and techniques that contribute to the enhancement of the educational process in the area of values-building and pilot proposals of specific methods and techniques for its innovation and optimisation. This publication also contains a validated inventory for (self-)evaluation of social work students’ values, which is the output of validation as well as quantitative and qualitative research of more than 400 social work students from the V4 countries.
